There will be a warm welcome at Westacre this Autumn
- whether you are old friends of ours or coming to see us for the very first time.
We are delighted to play host to a brilliant new comedy by Adam Long, the co-creator of The Reduced Shakespeare Company. Following the internationally acclaimed Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) he now treats us to a new take on another of literature’s Titans with Dickens Abridged coming to Westacre in September hotfoot from a sell out run at the Edinburgh Festival.
Also, we are delighted to welcome Box Tale Soup and their innovative two-hander adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic Northanger Abbey.
In October please support Westacre’s fund-raising team in their one-off fifth Wednesday lunchtime presentation of Punch, Pies, Peas, Poems and Prose. Five of Westacre’s favourite actresses combine to offer an intriguing miscellany following delicious luncheon refreshment.
On October 10th the brilliant jazz and blues artist Eileanόra Ni Charthaig returns with four of her favourite musicians and offers some Irish Champagne to add a little sparkle to the Autumn mist
In November Westacre Theatre Company presents a new version of Willy Russell’s provocative, poignant and extremely funny Shirley Valentine and for the Festive Season young and old alike will be enthralled by a colourful revival of our hugely successful adaptation of Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. Mole, Ratty, Badger and Toad ride again!
Through our full size cinema screen and superb sound system, Live and Recorded Screenings will continue to bring to rural West Norfolk the very best from the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company. And this season we are proud also to encompass the best from The Globe, the new Kenneth Branagh company and Matthew Bourne.
Wednesday Flicks returns for a new season of 8 of the best recent films including two with particular local interest – The Goob and London Road. October Half-Term sees a special Family Screening of the delightful Paddington.
As usual we are also offering creative arts classes and a whole range of activities for Yo!West, our Westacre Theatre for Young people.
To make your enjoyment complete, in addition to Food Fridays on selected show nights and Light Lunches before the Wednesday Flicks we are now offering a set buffet menu on Saturday Supper nights. All should be reserved in advance.
For further details about any of the above or other Westacre Theatre events please scour this web-site or call our box office line 01760 755800 (24/7 messaging service when not open).
David Baker 27 July – 1 September
David Baker took up painting in earnest after becoming unable to continue working as a professional lettering artist and lettercarver. These stunning paintings on show reflect the constant creative and artistic understanding of form, colour and composition.
The Riverside Café will be open on selected Wednesdays during our autumn season, to accompany our Wednesday Flicks.
Tea, coffee, cake and a selection of light lunches will be available between 12pm and 4pm.
Why not drop in for a cup of tea or coffee, or maybe some lunch!
We look forward to welcoming you to Westacre Theatre.
