The current exhibition:

19th June  - 23rd July: Helen du Feu and Marie Dawe.  An exhibition of colourful acrylics and amazing glasswork.

As well as ceramic art, Marie works in fused glass – a technical product which offers plenty of scope for artistry.  Originally starting with Copper Foiling, Marie progressed to Leaded Glass and Stained Glass, and then Glass Fusing.

Now with many years’ experience she is a full member of the Contemporary Glass Society (CGS), and provides regular workshops in her barn near Dereham for her own budding students.

Always experimenting, Marie is constantly refining her skills and excellence at all levels.  Many techniques are used to obtain a controlled and expressive result.  Working in glass can be challenging but fundamentally is always a delight.

Helen excels in vibrant and colourful semi-abstract acrylic paintings on canvas inspired by the natural world.  It is the dynamics of colour combinations in her atmospheric and impressionist landscapes that conveys mood and emotion.

Helen & Marie pics 1Studying at Manchester University and Croydon College of Art, Helen became a prop-maker for theatre, film and television before moving to Norfolk to take up painting full-time.

Exhibiting at Westacre Theatre…

The exhibition space at Westacre Theatre has been extended as part of our ongoing development work. The new spaces include our existing foyer area, new bar, new link and separate new gallery area.  We usually have between two and three different artists exhibiting with us each season. We always aim to give preference to local artists but are happy to exhibit work from further afield.

If you would be interested in having an exhibition here with us then please do get in touch with the theatre office on 01760 755 007.

The exhibitions are  available to view at performance times, or at other times by prior arrangement.

Further information is available in our Gallery flyer

Please give the theatre a quick ring on 01760 755 007 before you intend to visit to make certain there will be someone here to open up the spaces.
