The Author's Hour - Sharon Ring

The Author’s Hour

Sharon Ring, a journalist whose career has seen her interview Princess Diana and negotiate an exclusive with David Beckham, has called her new novel “the best scoop I have landed”.

It was in Heacham, in a bungalow opposite the duck pond, where she first caught glimpse of the memoir, hidden in the same strongbox as her elderly mother’s will. For Sharon, it was immediately clear that it contained “one of the last untold stories of the Holocaust and World War Two”.

“I was immediately gripped to learn the story of Mischlinge - a word I’d never heard, the German word for mongrel or half-breeds dogs that the Nazis cruelly twisted to label men, women and children if they had Jewish ancestors,” she said.

Sharon, who lives in Docking, said the stories of her family members had gone untold until now.

Come and join award-winning journalist and author Sharon Ring at The Author’s Hour on Sunday 14th March, as she shares the remarkable true story behind Mischlinge: Two Children, One Family, and the Relentless Shadow of Nazi Terror - an unforgettable tale of survival, resilience and hope.
