Launching on 10 March (and running until 3 May) is a brand new Exhibition; the very first one by members of a freshly formed collective called ARTFOLK of NORFOLK.  Working in different mediums, they have been selected to exclusively display their best work here at Westacre Theatre.

For a unique opportunity to meet and chat with all the artists together, please come along to their free OPEN AFTERNOON on SATURDAY 14 MARCH from 1pm to 5pm.

There will be many other chances to view their work at your leisure.  The Theatre’s Foyer Gallery is open at all performance times and additionally across the following weekends from 10am to 5pm.

  • Sunday 15 March
  • Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March
  • Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March

  • Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April

We hope you will take advantage of these many opportunities to come along and see the results of some truly creative efforts by this impressive group of artists and artisans.

Terry Rogers

Painting from a very early age, Terry is completely self-taught.  He has experience in all mediums, but the one which suits his current style best is Acrylics so that remains his first preference.  Terry likes his subjects to be challenging!

Having originally trained as a Draughtsman, he later became a Bridge Engineer specialising in structural inspection.  Now his retirement enables him to be productive at his easel.

Fiona Graves

Fiona began drawing as soon as she was old enough to hold a pencil.  Then, years later an inspirational teacher leading a local art group, which Fiona joined at Westcliffe-On-Sea in Essex, gave her the confidence she needed to experiment with a wide variety of techniques and, importantly, to develop her love of watercolour.

In the seven years since she moved to Norfolk, Fiona has been stimulated by the beauty of the countryside all around her and continually endeavours to capture this on paper.

Sue Welfare

Living and working in West Norfolk, Sue is a well-known figure locally in artistic circles.  The exquisite creativity behind her limited edition hand-printed linocuts is heavily influenced by the rolling countryside of Norfolk, its natural unspoilt coast and the huge variety of wildlife that abounds and can be seen everywhere – as well as by the colourful chaos of domestic life!

Izzy Wingham

Graduating with a BA (Hons) Illustration Degree from the new Norwich University of the Arts, Izzy is enchanted by the numerous opportunities to follow her professional calling and draw stunning images of the alluring North Norfolk coast and the many attractive surrounding villages.  Izzy was delighted to be selected to participate in the Landscape Artist of the Year series on the Sky Arts channel last year.

Sally Grice

Committed to developing her own original techniques, Sally has met with an enviable success in combining her hand crafting of silver jewellery with the discipline of digital art.  The result is her eye-catching designs that have wide appeal.

Janette Williams

Painting and sketching primarily in oils and pastels, local artist Janette effectively fuses impressionism with elements of reality.

Working in Design throughout her prolific career, Janette pursues her passion of the human form through the expression of ballet and dance.  She indulges her love of nature by making the most of her gloriously beautiful adopted county of Norfolk.

Janette was instrumental in forming Artfolk of Norfolk and has now accumulated a significant following through her teaching of art and specialising in pet portraits by taking commissions.

Exhibiting at Westacre Theatre…

The exhibition space at Westacre Theatre has been extended as part of our ongoing development work. The new spaces include our existing foyer area, new bar, new link and separate new gallery area.  We usually have between two and three different artists exhibiting with us each season. We always aim to give preference to local artists but are happy to exhibit work from further afield.

The Gallery is open at all performance times.

Visitors are very welcome on other weekdays too, but please always check before you intend to visit by calling the Theatre on 01760 755 007 to make certain there will be someone available to open up the spaces.

If you would be interested in having an exhibition here with us then please do get in touch with the Theatre office on 01760 755 007.
